Sounding the Clarion

The Clarion was a medieval trumpet with a clear high-pitched tone which they used to summon people to action and as a signal in war.

This clear unmistakable sound led to the figure of speech, “The Clarion Call” derived from the Latin words “claritat” [clarity] and “clarus” [ clear] which are used to express clearness of expression, thought, sound or image.

Sounding the trumpet is described 60 times throughout Scripture as a call to action and clarity in understanding.

Your Clarion Call

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Ps. 32:8

Calling you to action! God’s call to you will direct your footsteps through the various seasons of your life. Your call can be for your purpose, preparation, a specific task or a mission that you are to fulfill at this point in time or season in your life.

To be obedient and do it with excellence is crucial to your progress and success. Upon this you will build during your next season. God will promote and open new doors of opportunity for you based upon your stewardship and not because of your potential.

A Kingdom Principle: In the parable of the talents Jesus taught of three workers with potential who has received their call but stewarded it differently. Their Master rewarded stewardship and not potential.

Creation Testifies of Him

He makes the stars: the Bear, Orion, the Pleiades, and the constellations of the southern sky. Job 9:9

In the heavens He has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a groom coming from the bridal chamber; it rejoices like an athlete running a course. It rises from one end of the heavens and circles to their other end; nothing is hidden from its heat. Psa 19:1-6

Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; play the lyre to our God, who covers the sky with clouds, prepares rain for the earth, and causes grass to grow on the hills.  Psa 147:7-8
