There are Giants in Your Promised Land

 Back to CCM Home

Be strong and of good courage, the Lord will go with you!

And the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you little by little; you will be unable to destroy them at once, lest the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. Deut. 7:22

The Israelites allowed their fear of man to overpower them, not obeying their call from God to enter into their promised land. They died without fulfilling their purpose and missed the blessings they would have received from the Lord while manifesting their destiny in the land of milk and honey.

A whole new generation had to be raised up for this purpose except for Joshua and Caleb who trusted God to give them victory in Canaan.

We are not taken into a promised land that lays waste, bare and empty but one that is cultivated, taken care off and producing fruit. For this reason, we need to focus our eyes on the vision He gives us, obey His call to action and trust Him to give us the strategy to drive out our enemy from before us, one by one.

You and I can trust the Lord that He will have a solution to every problem we face, a strategy for every mountain we need to overcome and victory over the giants in our land.

Friends, the Promised Land comes with hard work, battles and victories…”be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” Deut. 31: 6

May you be blessed in your pursuit!

You hit the nail on the head Wilhelmien when you said “The Israelites allowed their fear of man to overpower them,” Fear is a terrible thing it keeps you from walking by faith.
You’ve heard the saying you can take the boy out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the boy. Well I think that was the case with the 1st generation of the Israelites. God tried to set them free from slavery but that was actually taking them out of their comfort zone. Any problem come up they would remember how good they had it back in Egypt.
God showed them one miracle ofter another and even spoke with them as a nation and they still didn’t believe that he was a big enough God to take care of them. His voice scared them so they asked Mosses to speak with Him and tell them what He said. Then they didn’t want to believe Mosses when he told them that God said they could have that land.
The funny thing is they were afraid of the giants (correct me if I’m wrong on this) but the first giant that was killed by an Israelite was by king David before he was the king a few hundred years later after they took the land.
This teenage boy was far from perfect but he knew how to walk by faith and set an example of how to stand up to giants. They do make bigger targets after all.
The bottom line is: we are no better than the Israelites were except that we can learn from their mistakes. Fear is the opposite of faith it keeps you in the same place until you die and faith will move you forward in your journey.
